Friendly Hills Daylily Garden of Bill and Betty Gdaniec

Friendly Hills Daylily Garden
It all started in 1992 with two daylilies, unregistered seedlings, purchased from a local nursery. What did we know? Anyway we loved them. One year later we hooked up with the Daylily Society of Louisville at their Annual Flower Show and Sale and bought three more daylilies, this time registered daylilies, and joined the club. Soon after we joined AHS and have been members ever since.
At this time, our garden is primarily a display garden featuring over 600 registered daylilies and seedlings in a variety of colors, sizes, heights with early, midseason, and late bloomers covering a bloom season of early June through frost. There are specie and hybridized cultivars dating from the early 1920s through 2022. Many are top award winning selections.
Hybridizing started in 1998 and we registered our first daylilies in 2015. To date We've registered 67 daylily cultivars with the AHS. There are a variety of seedlings under observation in the far back garden with recent emphasis on lates and doubles.
Betty and I look forward to your visit and hope you enjoy all the featured gardens on tour. See you in June 2024.
